Are you missing Bonfire…well so are we! Sat 24th Oct would’ve been the 2nd HDBS procession but sadly has been cancelled due to Covid-19. Head over to our Facebook page from 7.15pm this Saturday night to help us mark our ‘would have been’ night, there may be a surprise in store! There will also be a Crowdfunding link to help raise money for HDBS and the RNLI, our members chosen charity.
Please note that this will be a VIRTUAL Facebook event only! There will be no HDBS activity happening in & around Heathfield on Saturday to help keep our community safe and prevent the spread of Covid-19!Continue reading “HDBS VIRTUAL Bonfire event – Sat. 24th Oct.”

With Covid-19 restrictions in place, we have had to hold fire on putting on our usual fundraising events. Here’s a little socially distanced friendly one we’ve put together for you to enjoy.
Get the clues, explore Heathfield and surrounding area in the comfort of your own cars to get the answers.
Prizes to be won. £8 per car. Due to COVID measures it is essential that you book a time slot to collect your treasure hunt clues. Please email email@example.com
It is with great sadness that I have the misfortune to confirm that the HDBS committee have taken the decision to defer our 2020 event.
Due to the restrictions that we have found ourselves living in currently with the covid-19 pandemic we have been unable to raise sufficient funds to put on our event and support the future of our society.
We feel a great sense of responsibility to our members, visiting societies and the community of Heathfield. To raise the risk of infection is something we would not feel happy to do.
Like many local businesses and organisations, covid-19 has affected us financially, meaning all eyes will firmly be on fundraising once restrictions are lifted.
After bringing Bonfire back to Heathfield last year and seeing the growth of our society this really was a tough yet correct decision for us.
On behalf of HDBS I’d like to thank you for your support and understanding. We will be back and with a special surprise that we have been working on since January.Steve Thomas
Heathfield & District Bonfire Society Chairman
